CD-Player does not play sound due to missing CD Audio MCI driver.
Cause:
The '[MCI] CD Audio' driver is missing.
Solution:
Use the 'Add New hardware' utility from 'Control Panel' to install Microsoft MCI for CD Audio Device (Media Control) driver.
1)Open the 'Add New Hardware' icon 2) Click 'Next'.
3) Select the 'No' radio button, and click 'Next'.
The 'No' radio button 4) Double-click 'Sound, video and game controllers' in the 'Hardware types' list box.
'Sound, video and game controllers' 5) Select 'Microsoft MCI' in the 'Manufacturers' list box, select 'CD Audio Device (Media Control)' in the 'Models' list box, and click 'Next'.
'Microsoft MCI' NOTE: You must have the Windows 95 Installation CD-ROM in the CD-ROM drive or have access to the CD-ROM through a local network. 6) Click 'Finish'. (The 'System Settings Change' dialog box appears.)
'System Settings Change' dialog box 7) Click 'Yes' to restart the computer.
